Bear isnt the villian for making the wish but he is for keeping it going. Making the wish yeah was the root cause but i wouldn’t fault him because he didnt know it was real and the wish took his wording too literally. Wishing that she loved him more than anything was bad wording but its exactly the type of exaggeration people often use like when someone says “i’ll love you forever and forever”, “the test took forever”, “this weighs a ton”. He didn’t think it was real so i dont blame him for not taking it seriously and making an exaggerated wish that didn’t work out however i do blame him for keeping it going. bear could have called to cancel the wish but instead wanted it altered and his insistence to keep the wish going is the thing that shows hes the villain. Bear had oppurtunities to make things right and didnt take them which made him the villian in the end.

Bear wasnt even evil either, the wish itself was BAD. Bear did not make the wish with malicious intent, and making the wish WITHOUT thinking about it to it's deepest extent isnt bad either, its at WORST naive and dumb

I don't think the people who are defending Bear understand just how messed up his wording of the wish is. Let's give Bear the benefit of the doubt and say he lived under a rock and/or that the universe he lived in did not have multiple examples of how love spells/wishes can go wrong (Aladdin, Twilight Zone's The Chaser, The Craft, Harry Potter) WHY is that the SPECIFIC WORDING he choses instead of "I wish Nicki loved me" or "I wish she would fall in love with me?" Why SPECIFICALLY was it "I wish for Nikki to love me more than ANYTHING in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD"?

just qouting curry baker entirely, Yes the wish willow wasnt a curse, no bear’s wish wasnt even evil it was just dumb as Ians was aswell. Ian kinda prooves the whole fact that people are stupid and wish willows shouldnt even exist, the wish would be bear’s fault if he had the knowledge it was gonna work in general. If you dont believe me, how many times have you taken a birthday wish seriously like it was gonna change your life?

I've never watched the movie, but I saw a clip on Twitter where the real Nikki was trying to attack Bear but fake Nikki kept stopping him, and It just made me feel sick and makes me not wanna watch it cuz it'll make me feel so horrible and gross 😭

I get where the guys are coming from like he didn’t know it’d actually work but really YOU are right. The movie exposed his character. Any regular person who saw the first sign of something not being right would’ve done everything they could to undo it. But Bear was selfish and a coward

The conversation with the shopkeeper is also very telling; he couldn’t imagine a wish going SO poorly that someone would be led to the point of desperation that Bear was at.

Also I realised even if he told Nikki about his true feelings in that car scene outside her house and she rejected him, he still would’ve used the one wish willow because he wouldn’t accept rejection, it would just fuel his obsession/ desperation with wanting to be with her.
