You don’t have to destroy the computer to make it a monitor. There are ways to activate monitor with other computers without destroying it. I’ve got an iMac 27 inch 2015 and I use it as a monitor and it’s original intention as a computer

2015 iMac, 5k.. lg screens ghost so bad, bad enough Apple has a support article for them…. So I’m using mine with a 1080p monitor lol. Can’t afford to replace the lg screen in it…
