@errrrriiiiinnnnn_: This might not be the best option for high income earners, but could benefit certain people. You have do your own research based on your personal situation!! #studentloans #studentloanforgiveness #studentdebt
PSLF here. Let them charge me all the interest they want. They are writing it off in Sept when I hit 120 payments.

It sucks that any payments you’ve made so far tho doesn’t go towards forgiveness so payments start at 1 where as other repayment programs count your previous payments and some during the forebarence during covid you could possibly be paying for a much longer period.

Even making 70k (resident salary) you’re in the 7% bracket. Not the worst but it’s definitely not the BEST. My PAYE plan will be like $50/mo when my new payment cycle starts. It’s being eliminated in 2028 but RAP deff isn’t best for everyone rn

it would be worth it if my monthly payments weren’t so high. i’ll gladly pay a smaller amount the rest of my life + end up paying a lot of interest than struggle with a $1k+ monthly payment when i only make $3k a month 💔

Thank you for this! I just haven’t had the mental capacity to really dig into the RAP. I appreciate you taking the time! Looks like this may be the best plan for us.

When they calculate your income, they look at both you & your spouse combined, right? What if we both have student loans to pay back?

Misleading start to the video. For anyone wondering, if the monthly payment on RAP is less than the monthly interest accrual, then yes unpaid interest is subsidized

I do feel for those who have astronomical payments, but I feel like I’ve only been seeing really negative numbers and it made me terrified to be proactive. I went from 132 under SAVE to 152 under the new plans (making abt 55,000 a year w 70,000 in loans). You can tell them not to restart payments until the forbearance is settled. Hopefully it’s the same for others <3

pretty sure the fine print said that the "forgiven" part you will be taxed on at the end, when all is said and done

Doesn’t that just mean you’re paying purely interest, so the total never goes doesn’t either?

Digital Mana :
RAP is obnoxiously terrible since it's based on 1% - 10% AGI and it may take 30 years to get out of debt which is very bad, compared to IBR.
