I loved my long commute in the morning when I was just vibing listening to music and drinking coffee. I hated it in the evening when I just wanted to be home at the end of the day.

I fell so bad for OPs extreme lack of alone time, to the point that they've convinced themselves of this. Find some time to just chill and not be doing something productive, if you're multitasking while taking time for yourself you aren't really resting.

I actually agree. Back when I was at uni, I used to have a 4 hour round trip on public transport. It was my peace time.

I used to love my car time! Music I love, singing along, enjoying every minute, even in standstill traffic. Now, with public transport, I still like it mostly, but hate the transfers every 20-30 minutes on a 2 hour trip 🙈

I commuted 4 hrs daily (by car) and I definitely enjoyed listening to books and music while nibbling and sipping my breakfast/snacks. Sometimes if traffic was really bad, I'd pull off and go to a café, restaurant, or even a park and just meander. I didn't have anyone bugging me unless I wanted them to.

Yes, and no. I don't like waking up at 4 am, leaving at 5:30am and getting back home by 5 pm. I DO listen to 120+ books a year but I'd rather take that time and go to the gym or eat dinner before going to the gym (I'm trying to get healthier)

I used to enjoy the commute to and from work, but with how people drive these days and the drive of gas… I’m just happy to make it to my destination alone 😂😂😂

Hard agree. My husband HATES driving 40 min to work and back everyday but guess what. You can listen to a podcast or your fav music at whatever volume you want and just cruise down the highway. I miss being able to commute to work. Now I commute everywhere with two toddlers and listen to the bluey track on repeat. I love my kids but I’m a SAHM and spend 99% of my life in their presence, including bathroom breaks lol

I had a 40 minute commute to school, and I actually loved it. Because I could listen to my music, podcasts, or stories while not having to say a word and sipping my coffee. It was such a wonderful way to start my day.

I loved the period when I drove our kids to school 20 min away. 20 min in the morning listening to their plans for the day. 20 min home rocking out to kid unfriendly favorites at inappropriate volume. Then the reverse after work to pick them up. 🥰

I agree. I love the commute to just have a quiet moment before coming home to a hectic household. Listening to music and singing along or sometimes just some much needed silence💝
