this is what a rainy day called for i think…🤎 (for the porridge) you’ll need: - 2-3 dates (depends how sweet you want it!) - 1/2 cup oats - 1 cup (+ a little more for later) of any milk - 1 shot espresso (or 1tsp instant coffee, dissolved) (for the banana): - 1 ripe banana - small knob of butter (to serve): - 1 tbsp brown sugar - a dollop of greek yogurt - 1 piece of dark chocolate method: 1. begin by removing the pips from the dates. then, roughly chop the dates into fine pieces. 2. in a small saucepan, combine the oats, coffee / espresso, dates and milk and place on a medium heat. 3. once the porridge begins to simmer, lower the heat and keep stirring until thick and creamy (about 5-6 minutes). 4. meanwhile, peel the banana and slice lengthways. 5. heat a frying pan on a medium heat & melt the butter. 6. place the banana slices face down onto the pan and leave to cook (try not to move / play around with them). 7. after a few minutes, check if they are golden and then flip. 8. cook for another few minutes on the other side and once caramelised, remove from the heat. 9. the porridge should be creamy and thick so remove from the heat and add a little drop of milk (if needed). stir through thoroughly. 10. place the oats in your bowl of choice and top with your freshly caramelised banana. 11. then, sprinkle the brown sugar all over the oats and banana. 12. add a dollop of cold greek yogurt right on top, and don’t forget to grate some dark chocolate to finish… enjoy xxx☕️🍯 #porridge #oatmeal #oats #yogurt #breakfastrecipes
