@jamus9254: Luminosity have confirmed their acquisition of Lucas "lux" Meneghini and four Monte players, re-entering CS2 seven years after releasing their Brazilian lineup. Founder Steve Maida reacquired the Luminosity brand from Vertiqal Studios for CAD $300,000 (approximately $212,000) this January, having sold the company to Aquilini GameCo Inc. in a deal worth CAD 21.5 million (over $16 million at the time) in 2019. Maida told LG's website: "After retiring in 2021 and watching Luminosity it was always my goal to one day buy it back and put LG where it belongs — where it all started — Counter-Strike. "When we were evaluating entry points back into the scene, the opportunity to sign the core as free agents presented itself. We believe fully in this team and their success at Cologne proved we bet right." A Major-winning organization in 2016 with Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and company, the Canadian club will now compete as a European combine. With Monte's points in the bag, they will start life already in the top 20 of the VRS. Only Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, who is expected to join 100 Thieves, will not join Luminosity from Monte with former Legacy skipper lux drafted in as his replacement. Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, Aurélien "afro" Drapier, and Oscar "AZUWU" Bell join on free transfers after their Monte deals expired, but Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov did need to be bought out of his contract. Monte's management attempted to negotiate contract extensions with the trio before the Major, HLTV understands. After the team was eliminated, the players informed the organization that they intended to move on. The team will debut today at XSE Pro League with the following, with no word yet on the coaching staff: Bulgaria Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov Lithuania Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras France Aurélien "afro" Drapier Brazil Lucas "lux" Meneghini United Kingdom Oscar "AZUWU" Bell #Valve #CS #luminosity
