I go to the gym, drinks a lot of water everyday, don't smoke nor drink, eat whole foods and less processed foods, no sugary foods, I eat lots of cucumber and banana everyday, BUT I still got gout. It's mainly genetics (I think) because all the male in our family has gout, my first gout attack was when I was 18yrs old. If you will have your first gout attack even with all the healthy lifestyle that you are going to do, it will never be gone, though it will lessen the gout attacks but it will never be gone. All you have to do is be prepared MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY and always be ready whenever it will occur.

fyi op gout is super genetic as well. I don't drink, I was pretty active, I only have water. my only bad habit is red meat. still have gout at 32 with the lady stating "in my 24+ years working here ive never seen uric acid levels this high" turns out my dad's side of the family has a deep history of it 🤷♂️
