The West ( Americans in particular) have always been fearful and resentful of China. China is proving that other systems can be successful. Let's all remember properly: In the 80s/90s, the American government passed laws allowing U.S. companies to move manufacturing to China where they could exploit a cheaper workforce. China, being innovative, strategic and disciplined, learned how to adapt. Under Xi, China is succeeding because the government figured out that when you invest properly in people, healthcare, education and infrastructure you advance your society. The cost: when people have food, shelter and dignity, innovation flourishes. It is literally that simple.
