@atbcarsuk: There are certain cars that stop you in your tracks... and for me, the BMW E23 is definitely one of them. We filmed this back at our 7Event when we caught up with Ian and his absolutely stunning BMW E23 735i. Honestly, what a lovely bloke, and what an incredible car. The more we chatted, the more you could see just how much time, effort and passion has gone into keeping this old BMW exactly as it deserves to be. That's what makes this community so special. It isn't just about the cars—it's about the people behind them and the stories they've created over the years. The E23 was BMW's first-ever 7 Series, launched in 1977, and it set the benchmark for what a luxury sports saloon could be. It introduced a level of driver-focused engineering, comfort and refinement that shaped every generation of 7 Series that followed. Even today, nearly 50 years later, it still has a presence that modern cars struggle to match. Looking at Ian's car reminded us exactly why we spend so much of our time saving these classics. Every one that survives carries a little piece of BMW's history with it. For us at ATB, this is what it's all about... meeting great people, hearing amazing stories and celebrating the cars that continue to bring us all together. Now here's the debate... If someone handed you the keys to any BMW 7 Series, which generation would you choose? Would you daily drive an E23 like Ian's, an E32, an E38, an E65... or something newer?
