Interesting enough, last summer, when the moon was full, I took my 12 year old son outside at about midnight, and I covered his eyes, then walked him to the backyard. As I still had his eyes covered I said this to him: “I want you to think of the moon, and what you were taught in school. That the moon is 250,000 miles away from Earth, in space. Also think about anything else school taught you about the moon, maybe rotating around the Earth so far away(I still had his eyes covered at this point!). so clouds are see through, depending on their density, they can be more or less translucent. when a cloud isn't dense enough, the brightness of the sun is bright enough to completely obstruct the cloud.
