The BMJ study did not conclude that everyone should have 60 cm thighs. It found that, in one group of Danish adults, very small thigh circumference was associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death. Thigh size was used as a marker of muscle mass and overall health—not as a target. A 60 cm thigh is not an ideal size for everyone, as healthy thigh circumference varies with height, sex, age, body composition, and ethnicity. Claiming that everyone should aim for 60 cm thighs is a misrepresentation of the study.
