En français on divise les mots ainsi aussi, je doute fortement que l'anglais soit la seule langue ainsi, toutefois, oui le français a fait l'anglais moderne sur une grammaire des langues germaniques.

Not entirely true. In Portuguese, cow is vaca, beef is carne, galinha is chicken in the field, frango is chicken you eat, porco is both pig and pork.

In Spanish we use two different words fish. One referring to it while it’s living in the ocean and the other after it has been caught. Pez and Pescado

The Battle of Hastings was so transformative for English culture and too few know of it. Thank you for educating folks…I’d also argue this was two Vikings (at least descendants) fighting for the English crown.
