We got a robotic mower and love it! I was super skeptical about this but I trust Derek and all of the research he does. We were sick of hiring someone to mow our yard so we decided to try it out. I figured, it cost pretty much the same amount as we were paying landscapers every year so if it worked well, we’d be saving money in the end. Make sure if you decide to order one, that you pay attention to the size of the acreage it can mow as well as the cut height as they have many different variations. You also need to get one that can mow a little more acreage than what you have. For instance, we have .45 acres and we got one that can mow .75 acres. We got the 2.2-4” cut height. Once you have it put together, you’ll need to find a spot for it to go and install the satellite. The one we have also came with 4g. They sell a cute little garage that you can buy for it also but Derek is going to make ours one instead. To map your yard, download the app, connect your mower and then create task zones. We created 3 total zones: one for the backyard, one for the front yard and one for the side yard. You also have to create a channel to go across the driveway and no-go zones for things like islands and gardens. Once you get it all set up, it’s smooth sailing! Tell it to mow and then sit back and relax! This gave Derek more time to weed whack and edge our yard. 🙌🏼 The mower senses people and animals and will stop for them. It has an anti-theft system and a gps tracker. It has been quite popular in our neighborhood. People walking or driving by stop and watch it at work, amazed. It really does work so well! Lastly, you can tell it to mow in different directions like horizontally, vertically, diagonally or even cross-cross! You can also control the speed at which it mows and the cut height. Derek has had it mow our yard at all of the different directions and it looked awesome every time!
