@explainique: Opioids can be powerful medications for moderate to severe pain, but they also come with serious risks. They work by attaching to opioid receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system — reducing pain signals and changing how the brain interprets pain. But opioids can also cause drowsiness, nausea, constipation, confusion, dependence, and in serious cases, slowed breathing — especially when combined with alcohol or other sedating medications. In a future video, we’ll talk more about the opioid crisis and why safe use, monitoring, and awareness matter so much. Simple idea: opioids can reduce pain, but they must be used carefully. #Opioids #PainManagement #Pharmacology #OpioidAwareness #HealthcareEducation
