Omg I did this too!!! I thought my heart leaf philodendron was some sort of unknown rare Pothos and I had won the plant lottery. Fortunately she is still with us. (I was in middle school)

you're talking about the genus epipremnum. The real Pothos genus is very different and less commercially available. most of them look like some variation of this one

I have that same variety! How does yours look so good mine hasn’t done anything since I got it MONTHS ago and I recently realized every leaf has its own root system and none of them are connected😭😭😭

Honestly pothos is usually kinda textured while all my philos are smooth so I can usually tell… but I still label everything 😂
