@wajid.electrician: I've always wondered which wire can handle more current: stranded or solid? Did some research and found that stranded wires tend to handle higher currents better because of their flexibility and surface area. Anyone else tested this out? Would love to hear your experiences!#viral_video #eaction #electrician #DB #1000k
The current is virtually the same if they have the same gauge and are made of the same material; the skin effect is almost negligible at 60 Hz.

stranded wire carries more. it dissipates the heat better and faster. also remember that current is the movement of electrons at the surface of the material. not at the core

Electrical engineer here, I can confirm stranded wire is correct when I googled the question.

DC or AC ? Current does not flow the same in ac and dc

stranded cable. because of skin effect.

Both will carry the same current.
one is straw to make it more flexable

Solid wire is the best best the potential of voltage drops is low compared to stranded wire

They’ll all carry their rated current. Difference between the two is which one to use where. Solid core in places where it’s not expected to be moved around like ceiling and inside walls. Strand one for the opposite like extension cords, appliances etc.

The important consideration is the cross sectional area of the conductor. If the external diameter of the two cables are the same, the solid cable has more cross sectional area and therefore can carry more current.

Stranded wire will carry more current with same weight per inch due to more surface area.

stranded wire is good for high current, especially because of skin effect

A single-core cable can carry a higher current because it has lower resistance

stranded wire have a little more capacity because its external diameter is larger, larger diameter means better cooling, then more ampacity. if stranded conductor is compacted, then both have same capacity, otherwise is stranded conductors are individually insulated, its capacity is higher

stranded wire has lower voltage drop.electrons moving in the surface.stranded has bigger surface(lower resistance per km or per miles)
