Just like how there are multiple good movies and documentaries about the ocean, there’s also bad ones. I saw a post similar to this one that inlcuded documentaries that are a bit controversial. Some documentaries are not accurate or leave out key information about how things actually happened. Real marine biologists have reviewed such documentaries and classified them as misleading. 🤦🏻‍♂️📋 My personal take is we should receive the good from these documentaries, and not the bad. I’m no one to judge their intentions when making them, but I do wanna put this out there because it is important. A lot of humans harm the ocean not because they are cruel monsters, but because of their culture or the way they see marine life. This is info that is lacking in these documentaries, but the truth still remains that we have not done a good job as humans to protect our seas. Few people actually care now. Movies like Avatar: Way of the Water, show clearly the immediate reaction to humans seeing an opportunity to gain money at the expense of nature and sea life. 💔 It’s so accurate to reality. I watched this movie over and over again with my parents and theres such a beautiful message behind it for those who can connect it with our current world situation. Free Willy, the movie 🫍 was one of the first movies that made me LOVE marine life. I remember my mom buying the DVD tapes at Goodwill 🥹 I would always return with her to find part 2, 3, and 4. These were my favorite movies when I was little. I never knew it would spark something in me that would reflect into my life years later. Here I am, still talking about orcas and sharks and all kinds of ocean life. It’s part of who I am as a person now.
