my opinion but maybe Naruto was so desperate because Sasuke was one of the first people who he became friends with? Sasuke was one of the first people to treat Naruto like a human, and Sakura doesn't really have a reason to be so devoted.

There’s a huge issue with this argument everyone seems to forget. There’s 3 completely valid reasons for Naruto to constantly chase Sasuke. 1. Naruto sees Sasuke as his closest friend and even calls him his brother, and seeing him go down a path of evil and be taken by Orochimaru made Naruto want to save him 2. Naruto’s nindo was to “never go back on his word” and he promises Sakura to bring Sasuke back (even if she tried revoking the promise, she emotionally manipulates him) 3. Naruto states that he doesn’t deserve to be Homage if he couldn’t bring Sasuke back because if he can’t bring back his closest friend, how could he lead a village

I think it's because the relationship and bond between Sasuke and Naruto was clearly written from the beginning, in contrast to the bond between Sasuke and Sakura. There's also the fact that Sakura is quite a perverted character, which is often brought out when talking about Sasuke. I understand people who find Sakura irritating, even though I like her very much.
