@bode.thefinancedad: 🚨 Ontario drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, and rideshare users, this could affect you. Starting July 1, 2026, Ontario’s auto insurance system is changing, and many people don’t realize what that could mean after a serious accident. While medical, rehabilitation, and attendant care benefits will remain mandatory, several important benefits including income replacement, caregiver benefits, housekeeping assistance, and non-earner benefits will become optional. That means if these coverages aren’t included in an insurance policy, they may not be available when they’re needed most. This isn’t just something vehicle owners should pay attention to. If you walk, bike, use Uber, ride as a passenger, or drive someone else’s vehicle, it’s worth understanding how these changes could affect you. Before renewing or purchasing your policy, take a few minutes to speak with your insurance broker and ask what benefits are included. Choosing the lowest premium isn’t always the best financial decision if it leaves you underinsured after a life-changing accident. After July 1, the question may no longer be “Was I injured?” It may be “Was I covered?” If you have questions about an accident or insurance-related legal matter, Odetoyinbos LLP is available to help. 👀👀 insurances should be optional too, if they won’t covered for injuries caused by a vehicle in motion. The government should regulate these insurance’s companies. This will only benefit those companies. This is not good at all.
