@arum.care: On July 1st, 1960, Somalia became one of the first African nations to break free from colonial rule and begin writing its own history. We were the Pearl of the Indian Ocean then, a nation flourishing with promise, hope, and prosperity. Thirty-one years later, war arrived and has never fully left. Millions of us were scattered from the land and heritage we once called home, carrying Somalia in memory rather than in place. But home was never only a location. It is what we carry. And what we carry can still take root anywhere. We are far from the nation we once were, but distance is not the end of the story. May each day bring us closer to unity, peace, and possibility. The future belongs to those who believe in a greater good for all of us. Our land still has so much to offer. To help those seeds flourish, we water them with hope.
