I begged my parents to take me out of private Christian school, and they wouldn’t let me. Thank god I graduated, but now I’m in therapy.

I believe its ok to practise your religion if you have kids. You should be able to believe what you want and have kids. For me, its not ok to teach them your religious views in a way that seems like fact. What is ok to me is educating in a way RE would. For example: "what are you doing?", "im praying, because of my beliefs about things. I believe there is a god so i'm praying to him. You don't have to believe the same or anything at all." Am i wrong for thinking this way?:

Abuse isn’t good (duh) but kids being taught abt the world is normal. And religious texts aren’t inherently abusive. I’m not Christian AT ALL. But religion is religion. Not saying every bit is okay but it’s there and it’s normal and it’s a parents right to raise their kids religiously. It’s an American right honestly. And yeah the parents might be wasting money but it’s their money. I believe ppl have absolute freedom. Putting your kids in a religious school isn’t inherently abusive. It may not be morally right TO YOU but that’s just your opinion the way it’s their opinion too. It’s completely on topic

⚠️WARNING YAP⚠️as a minor that was forced into a religion but im actually an atheist, I agree with all of your videos. I once came out to my mom as aroace once and she just told me im actually straight and just dont know and was locking me in the closet. tho I once was bi and I never told her so idk why me not being attracted to anyone is the biggest problem. also, I will never come out to my dad because he's heavily religious and homophobic.
if you read this. ty for hearing my horribly long yapathon🥲

I was indoctrinated into Christianity when I was still small. Even though it was only Sunday classes, I became extremely agressive towards other religions. They belittled other beliefs during their lessons to emphasised how "superior" Christianity was, then I mimicked them and said the same things to my classmates who were Buddhists. Growing up and thinking back to that time, I feel extremely embarrassed for believing in what I was taught 🤦🏻♀️I was just a child, who weren't able to recognise toxicity and the harmful effects it has on me. Adults need to take control and protect the children from such things, not dragging the kids deeper into the mud
