@dexexplains: Replying to @✝️ Donny Riz 🇺🇸 We use photons every single second of our lives… but ask someone what one actually is, and things get weird. 😅 Turns out, light is far stranger than most people realize. #S#ScienceP#PhysicsQ#QuantumPhysicsS#SpaceLearnOnTikTok
Have you done a video on the double slit experiment?

i was trying to think of some kinda physical story i could tell kids, as an approximation.
kid 1 is the proton, kid 2 is the electron, between them they wiggle a jump rope to keep it from hitting the ground. another kid, 3 gets added to the side of 1 and 4 stands out past 2. they have a longer rope and cant stand in the same distance as 2.
sometimes an electron kid could notice its too much work to wiggle this long rope, so they jump forward, cut the extra slack and toss it away, emitting a photon.
its a mess... but im working on it, haha.

Zero mass. Infinite speed. No concept of time. Photons are the ultimate cosmic rebels lol

Visible light, x-rays, microwaves, gamma rays... all are electromagnetic radiation, and photons are the force carriers for electromagnetism!

Given that the world that I observe around me is essentially a construct in my brain built from the information the photons carry, what does the world look like when my eyes are closed?

yea, you're gonna have to do double slit because it's crazy. then I heard it's not crazy which sounds crazy

Remember when you were a kid and you would rub your shoes on the carpet to build up a charge, then discharge that charge by shocking someone. When you do this in the dark, you can see the spark of light. An electron in the electromagnetic field is excited to a higher state (absorption). When it loses energy (that discharge), it drops to a lower state and creates a photon.
