Larp larp larp Max Stirner was a nineteenth-century German philosopher best known for his book The Ego and Its Own (1844). Born Johann Kaspar Schmidt in 1806 in Bayreuth, he became one of the most controversial thinkers of his time. Stirner is often associated with individualist anarchism and egoism, although his ideas do not fit neatly into any political category. Stirner argued that individuals should reject all abstract authorities that claim power over them, including the state, religion, morality, and society. He referred to these concepts as “spooks” because he believed they existed only in people’s minds yet exerted enormous influence over human behavior. According to Stirner, people should act according to their own interests and desires rather than blindly obeying external rules. His philosophy of egoism emphasizes personal autonomy and self-ownership. Stirner did not advocate selfishness in a simple sense; instead, he encouraged individuals to critically examine beliefs and institutions that limit their freedom. He believed that voluntary cooperation among self-interested individuals was preferable to forced obedience. Although Stirner was largely ignored during his lifetime, his work later influenced anarchists, existentialists, and other radical thinkers. Today, Max Stirner remains an important figure in political and philosophical discussions about individuality, freedom, and authority. #larp #egoism #edit
