🚨MILLIE SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA 7/6 @ 11AM FOR SPACE🚨 Millie has done everything she’s been asked to do. She survived life as a stray, cared for her four puppies, & has slowly started learning that people can be kind. Now, before she’s even had the chance to decompress, she’s scheduled to lose her life because shelter is full. When Millie first arrived, she was terrified. She stood in the corner of her kennel with her tail tucked, shaking, startled by every sound, & too scared to even accept treats. The shelter has been an incredibly overwhelming place for her, but despite her fear, she has never stopped trying. Volunteers have already seen encouraging progress. Although she initially retreats when someone enters her kennel, she begins to relax if they’re willing to sit quietly & give her time. One volunteer shared that within just a few minutes, Millie slowly came closer, happily accepted treats, & eventually allowed gentle pets. Another described her as shy, but easy to walk, noting that she relaxed once outside & simply enjoyed sniffing around at her own pace. They believe she has the potential to open up quickly once she’s in a calm home where she finally feels safe. Millie also appears to enjoy the company of other dogs. In playgroup, although she was nervous & paced at first, she remained social, politely allowed greetings, & displayed a gentle, dainty play style. Millie doesn’t need someone expecting a confident, outgoing dog on day one. She needs someone willing to let her decompress, build trust at her own pace, & discover what it feels like to finally be safe.
