I am cooler (when moving) in an armored mesh jacket than I am with the sun on my skin.

Watched a video once and it talked about how leaving your skin uncovered lets the sweat evaporate off of your skin and doesn’t cool you down. Changed my thinking…Wearing long sleeves and keeping skin covered with the right gear that actually breathes will keep you cooler.

If your only response is going to be "I don't crash, or don't expect to crash", why even bother asking? It is asinine to believe it can't or won't happen. Glad you haven't - me either.

what do you do when you end up sliding, and it's 96⁰ and you don't have gear?

Dress for the slide. "Oh I've been riding 30yrs and have never gone down". That mindset will get you killed.

If motoGP riders can wear full leather in the heat for hours, I can wear some mesh

I'd rather wear all my gear all the time than to be an old head that wears nothing but a t shirt and sandals with no helmet 🤦🏾♂️

Only unbearable in traffic or off the bike, moving any faster than like 25 though the gear pulls air into your body and cools you better than no gear honestly, I had to start putting a thermal layer under my gear on the cooler days

I wear all mesh gear in the heat. Done it on 102 degree days. I just ride on roads where I don’t really have to stop. Not the most fun but I like it better than needing a skin graft

Just have to drink alittle extra water and have gear with some ventilation, shorts and a shirt honestly feel hotter to me now cause I’m just roasting in the sun

Not really a big deal unless you’re just sitting under the sun in city traffic. Wet shirt with a well vented jacket if it’s particularly bad

did a bunch of track days in Texas summers in full leathers. track surface hits +120°. so city riding with mesh gear is nothing.

I ride full gear -60 miles to work in Arizona all summer. Wet shirt and a camelback so if I go down I still make home to my kids🤟

Everyone saying “all gear all the time” has never had a heat stroke riding their bike and it shows

I just accept that I’ll be needing a shower after the ride. I still enjoy my ride

I’ve actually got a decent answer. Focus on gear with good ventilation, ADV and touring gear are going to have the best in all of those. Leatt has really good pants and jackets. Also aim for light reflective colors rather than dark absorbent.

Knox Urbane Pro. There I saved your skin. If it’s too hot to wear gear it’s too hot to ride.
