OK Jazz to the golden years of Choc Stars, Carlyto carved his name into the rich history of Congolese rumba. His smooth, haunting voice breathed life into songs of love, heartbreak, longing and human experience - making him a voice that could make you feel a story before you even understood its words. With Choc Stars, alongside giants such as Debaba Mbaki, he gave us memorable gems like “Premier Amour,” “Mauvais Souvenir,” “Kiti Kwala,” “Verre Cassé” and “Jardin Abandonné.” But Carlyto's greatest transformation came later. The man who had spent years serenading earthly love eventually found another kind of love - his faith in God. He embraced Christianity, became a pastor, and redirected that extraordinary voice toward gospel music. His music no longer spoke merely to the heart; it spoke to the soul. And perhaps that is the most beautiful part of his journey: he didn't abandon his voice - he changed what he used it to say.
