He got 14 years for it. A policewoman is heard screaming in agony after a man she was trying to arrest poured boiling water on her. Two officers were called to the Birmingham home of John Davies, where they found he had “another man cornered against a fence”. One of the officers separated the men before Davies, 58, went inside the property. Officers were told Davies had a knife and he was confronted about it. Davies denied it, police said, but suddenly “threw the contents of a hot drink he had made into the face of the man he’d been arguing with”. The officers tried to arrest Davies, but he punched one in the face and grabbed the recently boiled kettle and poured it over the other. “She was left with blistering over her shoulders, back and neck,” police said in a statement. Davies has since admitted maliciously wounding the PC with intent to resist arrest, assaulting the officer he punched, and assaulting the man he’d been arguing with. He was jailed for 14 years and six months at Brimingham Crown Court last Friday and given an extended licence period for four years. Detective Constable Manpreet Sidhu, from the neighbourhood crime team at Bournville, said: "This was a horrendous attack on two officers going about their duties. "You can see from the footage that Davies put up a struggle, and it took many officers to restrain him so that he could be brought into custody. "One of the officers involved suffered significant injuries and has only recently been able to return to work following this assault. "No one should have to face this level of violence simply for doing their job and I hope the sentence delivered to Davies provides some justice for those involved.
