One thing no one talks about or maybe they just don’t understand it: it is not the parents, it is our whole patriarchal, hierarchal, oligarchal civilization that bases success on competition and winning and despises the losers. In this light, you parents have your best at heart and yes, they teach you to strife and win. We need to change the basis of our mentality and our foundational structures, not blame parents for not being enough. It is not parents, it is our entire society.
