This realization is insane cause I considered myself pretty good at apex. Had just hit Masters in S15, which was top 2% at the time, dabbled in some tourneys, and was feeling in good form. I hopped on and my buddy went "my friend needs to warm up, can he join?". I got mopped like 2-15. It was insane how much better he was, where I had to have god sprays with good movement for me to barely eek out wins. I could truly tell how outclassed I was and was wondering who this guy was. Months later I'm watching old ALGS video from 2020 and I see HusKers with the exact same capitalizations playing. Made me realize "holy, he was 3 years retired and he was smoking my shit". The gap from top 1% to 0.1% cannot be overstated.
