Messiah means a divinely appointed one and according to the Old Testament would be deliverer from the lineage of King David. Prophets described him, the Messiah as a victorious King, a suffering Servant, and One who will restore the House of David and usher in an era of eternal peace (John 16:33, Luke 1:32-33, John 18:36-38).
Jesus says "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33).
‘The angel went to her and said,“Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”’Luke 1:28-33. The Angel Gabriel states that Jesus will be called Son of the Most High and his kingdom will never end. In Revelation Jesus states, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:13. Jesus is Eternal and Everlasting.
Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” John 18:36-38.
In the book a Daniel, there is a vision of Christ “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” Daniel 7:13-14.
