The Farida Isah :
My take is this; yes akara business could send children to school, but that’s not in 2026. Compared to the times when people used akara business to sponsor their children education and now, there’s a big economy gap. My friend was saying she heard one woman say she sells up to 70k corn daily and she felt it was big money, but that woman doesn’t farm her corn, that woman buys fire wood which is expensive, that woman hawks or pay for space to sell this corn. Remove all that money, what can the remaining do in today’s economy? The First Lady mentioned 2 billion, 1 billion, etc, and we see it as a very big money. Sharing 2 billion within 50,000 women is 40,000 each, what can 40k do? Is there a system in place to ensure that these monies actually get to the people? Are there systems that actually help these women? How about using the money to do/build something that gives long term benefits? The problem is not just the messenger, it is also with the message. We need to start thinking critically in this country.
