Our dishwasher quit working, and instead of asking me for money or waiting on me to fix it, my 12-year-old son jumped on YouTube, did his research, and fixed it himself. Now don’t get it twisted, I wasn’t about to let him work on it alone. Dad was supervising the whole time. But I’m so proud that he’s willing to put in the work and learn instead of looking for the easy way out. Skills pay the bills, and moments like this remind me that teaching our kids to solve problems is one of the greatest gifts we can give them.
