You need a fuel gauge to tell you when to fill up. I reset the trip odometer every time I fill up and if I need to I switch over to reserve. That gives me an extra 40 to 50 miles travel. When it’s time to fill up I just twist open both caps, one for each side tank. I don’t trust the trigger releases on the gas hose nozzle. I fill the right tank half first then the left.

For new riders out there, if you have a bike that has a carburetor instead of fuel injection, use non-ethanol gas! It’s expensive but it won’t gum up your carburetor
