It allows the companies to spend less on physical releases, pocket more money, stop the pre-purchased second hand games market, control pricing and access, and force people to move up a console generation. Very clear this is for the shareholders more than anything

That’s crazyyyy. Cuz most collectors use PlayStation to keep an easy physical disk collection. But they going to have to rething how to now. PS. recommend GOG and just having your own backup storage with the games on them but still not the same as physical. 😞 screw corpos

I believe DVD sales by 2030 will be 60% less than what they are now and companies probably won't even have thoughts of a DVD version because they think "physical is not going to be supported so why do a DVD of our film?"

this is such a non issue to me because for 1 this has been happening for like the longest time i mean look at steam they’ve been extremely successful with this exact concept so it’s only natural for companies to follow suit but also the most of the same people complaining about this AT MOST have like 2-3 physical games on disc atm and prob don’t even play em or notice them
