Your assumption is that beauty is linear and objective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And you are also assuming that only men make the decision to marry. In the new age you will find that with the exposure that women have had over the years including empowerment of the same and the trauma we witnessed our mothers experiencing, most women take the decision of marriage more cautiously. It is the same mothers that a deterring their daughters from walking down that path too quickly. So yes enthusiasm whilst its not demand, availability doesn’t mean supply.
