The iPad or phone without headphones is absolutely rude! I’ve been traveling with my kids since they were 6 weeks old. So I am very familiar with how things go with them on a plane and long trips (10+ hrs) I loose my mind every time I hear other people’s shows. No please no!

I would rather hear the kids show and see a happy child. But what if you have 3 or five toddlers listening to different shows on loud. I suggest you prepare your toddler by going to the store and letting your toddler try on all the headphones to pick one out that they like and will wear. Also, have them practice wearing them before the day of flight so they can get use to wearing them.

can't you just get over the ear headphones...... that's what I use for my daughter and there's no issue she understands she has to wear them to be able to watch her tablet

This is why, when ours were toddlers, we showed them shows that didn’t require volume. E.g. Pink Panther, Pingu, Mr Bean. Everyone was happy…

Why are the only two options “toddler is disruptive”? If headphones aren’t an option for your toddler, then don’t come on the plane relying on a screen to entertain your toddler. Bring other, quieter, options. And if they’re so dependent on screen time that the only options are A or B then sort that out before flying!!! Wean them off screens, deal with the tantrums at home!!
