One day in basic training I decided I was gonna get an ice cream and I did a facing movement with the ice cream when I was not supposed to then I got in trouble for it and I was the ice cream man the rest of basic training lol

Damn base lib? Week three?? Never even heard of base lib. In navy boot camp the closest thing to freedom we had was service week, at week five. We just work at the galley or drill hall then go back to the barracks at the end of the day. The “freedom” is the ability to make the walk back to the barracks without a company commander. That’s it. The only actual liberty we had was after graduation, while waiting to class up and leave for those who weren’t grad-and-go. I went in 02. Things sure have changed.

We had a guy make homemade uno cards. When they got found we all got smoked and had to do each exercise the amount of times the uno card sad. We also had some have to "hide" in the snow dressed in full camo

I went though BMT in Feb of 2006..and naw...if my MTI gave us base lib in week 3... none of us would have taken it...we would have looked at that as bait...the "unsure" of it woulda had us scared

My TI has passed away but shoutout to Staff Sargent Victorino. He was really funny and would say the funniest craziest shit and then look directly at me to see if I was gonna crack a smirk. He was the coolest guy ever. RIP
