@melissajbyrnex: Q&A on Estrangement - Part 1! I really did enjoy this so much so welcome to the new series! ❤️ all comments can be left in my bulletin board 🫶🏼
My daughter cut me out of her life in 2023. I’ve since done therapy and really started to understand where I went wrong. I take full accountability for our relationship breakdown & how I let her down. Do you think there is ever a chance for us to rebuild? X

im no contact with my family and live in the same town which means that there are days i may drive past them or walk past them and it then destroys my day. living in the same town still doesn't allow me to heal fully x

That second question was mine & I’m so glad you saw it in the way I meant it, I’m not good with words so I’m really thankful you didn’t take it in a malicious manner 💕

@user7617039542234:just looking for some advice, my trying to support my partner through a similar journey. we are very open but I know her hypersexual/addiction has kicked in and got the better of her on a few occasions. iv not let her know I know as I know she loves me dearly and know she hates herself for it. we are very open and we have turned sex as a massive negative into a huge positive, to a point she would like to help others and I support her massively with that. but hypersexuality wont just dissappear so is it best to channel that energy into a way we feel helps others and releases thoughs urges or am I being nieve?

I don't miss her I long for a motherly bond but I had an amazing mother ever since and she has been the best mum I've ever met

Additionally, if anyone here is considering estrangement but feel the need to justify it, you don't need to. If the relationship is causing you more harm by maintaining it, it's okay to separate yourself. Validate the action to yourself, no one else.

Mel, I hope this is okay to ask but how did you go about your wedding? I cut contact with my dad about 5 years ago, and marriage is a conversation that my partner and I are having. I don’t want him there and it would be a logistical nightmare with the rest of my family, but I don’t know if I would feel guilty and have that subsequently affect my wedding day x

I was the same. I never thought mine was bad enough. It’s not until you’re out of it and you’re looking in on it that you’re like “why didn’t I leave sooner?”

I've been trying to go no contact with my abusive family for years now, what's been stopping me is that I'm currently very isolated with my only support system (my bf) living really far away so when I have an emergency or need support with things my only option is to go to my family. I'm going to be moving away from them soon but it's reached the point where my grandma is stalking me and driving past where I live. Going no contact can be so difficult even if it is the right choice

I hate the saying ‘You only get one mum’. Some people, just don’t know the real person. X
