@offenceregister: Craig Wilson Buxton and Youlgreave Paedophile Child Sex Offender Craig Wilson, then 53, of West Croft Close, Youlgreave, Bakewell, was imprisoned for eight years in 2020 after breaking into a charity to obtain access to minors, according to the Offender Database. When the defendant appeared at Derby Crown Court in July 2020, it was revealed that he had concealed his past as a sexual offender in order to become the chairman of the Royal British Legion's Buxton branch. Wilson reportedly exploited this job to go to a Brownies presentation, where he interacted with and took pictures of girls between the ages of seven and ten. Wilson purposefully concealed his past from the charity in order to avoid safeguarding checks, according to the report. According to Derbyshire Constabulary, hundreds of abuse photos, including ones he shot of the Brownies, were found on Wilson's iPad and iPhone during a raid on his house in January 2019. According to the prosecution, his devices had videos of the most dangerous Category A level, such as a newborn being raped and a naked girl with statements relating to abuse painted on her chest. Judicial Conclusions and Investigative Specifics Wilson was described by the court as a dangerous predator with a history of sexual offences going back to 2002. He was already subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) prohibiting him from being with females under the age of sixteen, which he blatantly disregarded in order to attend the Girlguiding event, Derby Crown Court heard. Wilson had previously been imprisoned in 2014 for exchanging sexual photographs with a kid, and the inquiry revealed that he also owned horrific animal pornography. Wilson was officially labelled as dangerous in the eyes of the law by Judge Nirmal Shant QC, who recognised that he posed a serious risk of harm to young females. Wilson received a two-year prison sentence with a six-year extension for his acts in Buxton and Youlgreave. The judge observed that he was an active threat to the community because he purposefully chose to attend the event while concealing his convictions. #CraigWilson #Buxton #Youlgreave #Bakewell #Derbyshire #DerbyshireConstabulary
