on top of that: if your account ever gets hacked and you contest purchases on your credit card, sony will suspend your account and deny any appeal. you will forever be locked out with no access to games you’ve purchased full price because of someone else’s fault. this happens all the time already. such a bad move on their end

I get why they're doing it. it sucks and someone who likes to collect physical meaning but it makes sense. my business standpoint when 80% of video games on both Xbox and Playstation I bought freaking digitally. it makes sense to phase out physical media which fucking absolutely sucks but they get to keep more profits which looks good to their shareholders

I was sooo tempted on buying Tomodachi life digitally but I like having a game to actually show off and a game I can actually hold. Where’s the fun in ordering a game that you physically cannot hold?

Physical disappearing sucks for people who like discs(ME!!!), but I don’t get why everyone is acting shocked. PlayStation full-game sales were already around a 70/30 digital/physical split in 2019, and now digital is around 80–85%. What do people realistically think that split is going to look like by 2028? Gamers spent years choosing digital convenience, preorders, deluxe editions, account libraries, and instant access over physical ownership. Companies are listening to gamers, just not the ones complaining in comment sections. They’re listening to what gamers actually buy.

having disc doesn't stop them from bricking your game if something happens just so u know they function just like digital games so its better to get digital cuz u can't scratch or lose them
