The company launched Meta Glasses, a new line starting at $299 that drops the familiar Ray-Ban name to hit a lower price, running about $80 cheaper than its Ray-Ban models with nearly the same hardware inside. The partnership itself isn't going anywhere. EssilorLuxottica still manufactures the frames, and the Ray-Ban and Oakley lines continue on. This is simply a cheaper, separately branded tier meant to reach a wider audience. The new glasses come in 26 styles across three frames, including a collaboration with Kylie Jenner that adds an embedded gem and lets the AI reply in her voice. Every pair ships with Muse Spark, Meta's first in-house AI model, which promises more natural conversation, live translation in 14 new languages, and turn-by-turn walking directions. Zuckerberg's bet is bigger than any single product. He sees glasses as the next computing platform, and with nearly two billion people already wearing them, Meta thinks it has a serious head start. The open question is trust, since the company is still working to address privacy concerns as the glasses grow more popular.
