Here's the most important part.The live action is almost hour long episodes. there anywhere from 50 to 60 when the cartoon is 21/22 minutes. They're not actually cutting down 21 episodes into 8. on runtime alone , there maybe losing one episode worth of time. begs the question , what the fuck are they doing?

It's also painfully obvious that Netflix doesn't respect or even understand the original show. From parting ways with the original creators to making changes that go against the narratives and messages in the original, it's clear that Netflix just wanted the spectacles and popularity of an already existing show.

Well they had what 8 episodes, the og season two without adds was 22 episodes of 22 min (including recaps and credits) so 22x22=484 minutes, divide by 8 is 60.5 minutes… they could of done 3 episodes of the og storyline per episode

Book 2 Nickelodeon ATLA: total 460 minutes Netflix ATLA: total 412 minutes it's not that far off. basically just short 2 episodes worth of the animated show.

If they wanted to do live action they should’ve did a continuation showing teenage aang setting up republic city so they could’ve factored the child actor acting into the show. They could’ve did endless episodes up the gaang just doing shit in early republic city

between the fan fiction live action and the lazily written movie that was "leaked" in full HD. I'm surprised the handrawn $20 fighting game of all things is what's exciting me most about the upcoming projects

Last I checked the first season had a longer run time than the original show's first season so overall they have no excuse to not cover a lot if not all the key aspects of the original show

As a fan who watched this show they could’ve told us it would deviate from the original storyline so us OG fans wouldn’t get hype about a live action adaptation. They could’ve said inspired by avatar and I would take it how it is. We have the right to feel a type of way bc they played in our faces.
