Zoey Update & Prayer Request The last few days have been a roller coaster. Thursday: Zoey’s ear began bleeding, so we took her to the ER. They checked for infection, including evaluating her brain, but thankfully found no infection. She was sent home with ear drops. Friday: We returned to the hospital because there was blood in her urine. We discussed nephrostomy tubes as a possible option, but due to the increased risk of infection, that is not the route we’re taking at this time. She still wanted to go outside and swing. Saturday: She was very tired and spent most of the day resting. Sunday: Zoey was able to sit outside on the front porch for a while, but later in the day her breathing became concerning. She developed retractions and was taking shallow, rapid breaths. After talking with a trusted friend and getting a second opinion, we headed back to the ER. Once there, they accessed both ports, completed a chest X-ray, and found what appeared to be a possible infection. A CT scan was ordered, and Zoey was admitted to the PICU on high-flow oxygen. The CT scan revealed more cancer in her right lung, and her lung had collapsed. Today, doctors placed a drain to help remove the fluid. Tomorrow, Zoey will begin chemotherapy. Our prayer requests: 🙏 That the fluid continues to drain effectively. 🙏 That Zoey can get off the high-flow oxygen. 🙏 That chemotherapy goes smoothly with minimal side effects. 🙏 That her right lung can begin to recover. 🙏 For strength, wisdom, and peace for Zach, Amanda, and the entire family. Thank you for continuing to pray, encourage, and stand alongside this precious family. We are believing God for miracles and trusting Him through every step of this journey. ❤️
