@banaadiricollective: today marks the date the collective efforts of our ancestors were actualised. maanta maalin waaye, maalin kheyr leh waaye! 🩵⭐️ from colony, to transitional government, to a sovereign independent state. from one xeeb-jire, geel-jire, beeraleey to a victory achieved by every Somali for every Somali. a mobilisation from miyi to magaalo, because Somalia belongs to us all. today, we remember and celebrate that moment of liberation, and honour those who carried the struggle, the sacrifice, and the hope of a nation into freedom. but history is far from finished. while we honour what was achieved, we also live in the reality of what still remains largely unfinished. as descendants we must also strive to build a future worthy of their sacrifices, so that generations to come may one day celebrate our achievements with the same pride that we celebrate theirs today. this is their victory, not ours. 1 july ⭐️ is a glory to those who came before us, and responsibility to those who come after us. we’re yet to build a just, stable and truly unified Somalia for all its people. there is still so much to do. 📆 1st July 1960 🇸🇴 🎶 maanta maalin waaye - banaadiri song #somalitiktok #somali #banaadiri #reerxamar #somalia
