Director: let's make Toph bend Sand instead of solid rocks Animators: wait making sand effects animation takes more time than solid Rocks, also Toph couldn't sense anything around sand. Also doesn't bending was based around specific movements instead of telekinesis. Why are we making more, when less is more?
