the entire point and narrative is about adaptation and two powerhouses who could finally find relative and in a sense kinship among each other despite being fated to fight. Sukuna’s CT being the one to cut through Gojo’s infinity, while tragic, is meant to show that Sukuna can understand Gojo’s loneliness and isolation.

Something I love about Sukuna’s character is how profoundly empty he looks after each Fuga. He really has nothing outside of overwhelming strength

True jjk fans know that they're equal because gege wrote them to be two sides of the same coin

its so frustrating to see the thematic significance of this fight reduced to a debate of who’s the “strongest”. It was NEVER about that

I'd argue that this entire fight is the most profoundly emotional and ideological moments in the entire series demonstrating strength, pressure, isolation, comraderie, mutual understanding and the theme present in all of JJK, FRICKING LOVE

Other comments kinda hammer this point home, but I wanna say it would’ve been a disservice to the story had Gojo won. Throughout the narrative we learn of how Jujutsu Society favors the strong and how isolating and cruel it can be. The ending isn’t just about defeating Sukuna, it’s about ending the cycle of violence brought about by Jujutsu society itself. Ending that isolation by giving one of the first technical “victims” of the system a chance he was never once presented; a chance to talk to someone.

i wish that jjk had a fandom more focused on character analysis like this than power scaling. it deserves a fanbase that can see what it’s trying so hard to say.

I think a lot of people miss the entire point of gojo being there to fight anyway even tho gojo knew he couldn’t win gojo KNEW that and still wanted to prove himself to sukuna that’s why he smiled after sukuna told him he would remember him and gojo wanted to show sukuna something more than loneliness I’m pretty sure he even says in the fight he wanted to show sukuna love or something along those lines

Aside from the fact that the fight is very well written, Sukuna's character is very underrated; there are people who genuinely believe he is evil and has no depth behind him, or that he never doubted his ideals.
At least for me, in terms of writing, he's the best character in JJK, W edit
