Thats was unnecessary and way to much energy and time. The outline is already there. Remove all the blocks, use a square shovel and press without having to bend over, then remove grass and finally place the blocks.

I used a limb saw to cut around my stepping stones. I then used a transfer shovel to remove the grass sod pieces. Worked out pretty well.
