i think maybe because it's easier to write with something that already existed. because it already have everything you need than writing a original fic where you do all of it, honestly for me if goes like that because everything is already Infront of me. every information i need is there unlike when you make something orig you have to think all of that

As someone who is both, yeah, fanfics are easier bc 1, lower stakes, no pressure, 2, you can use an established canon as your baseline - in original fiction, you need to make canon, 3, with fanfics, you have other fans to chat with, cheer over the ship with, other content to watch about your ship, it's a lot more dynamic. With og fiction, you can maybe hope you find a friend you can rant to. But everything else is on you
