Greeto saying "waganki" was a very necessary change. The movie was unwatchable before that

The dumbest changed I’ve ever seen was lilo and stitch when they change it from her hiding to a dryer to hiding in a cabinet with a pizza box 💀

This is why I'm the biggest advocate for physical media, they can't change my DVD. I can watch it as I remember it, without any alterations (even if they are somewhat understandable). DVDs last for a long time and it's not hard finding older ones

Never. It starts with little changes to fix a mistake, then remove “problematic” content, then those in power can rewrite history.

David Wagganer :
It’s never okay. Films are works of art, and changing them post-release is basically art desecration, unless the original untouched version is also made widely available in high quality alongside the changed version.

I hate any changes tbh, especially for something like Star Wars. I don’t like the idea of not being able to see the film as it was when it was released, as that’s the version people fell in love with

I'm not old enough to have seen the original Star wars in theaters, I must have seen the 2004 version first based on my age but I swear that when I first saw it greedo didn't shoot, I never understood the discussion because I remember Han being the only one who shoot

I think its fine if lucas wants to edit a film he made feeling it was incomplete but I think making it where we can't watch the originals is crazy especially since they're like really important for film history especially that 1st one

It’s only ok if the original ones are kept accessible. That’s my issue with things like the Star Wars special editions and the re edit of Fantasia. They basically made the originals impossible or borderline impossible to access.
