@theuncover.ai: The Antarctica data center idea sounds clever at first because cooling is one of the biggest hidden costs behind the AI boom. Cold air could reduce heat management needs, but the real challenge would be power, internet cables, repairs, extreme weather, and strict environmental rules around the continent. Data centers also need to sit close enough to users and energy grids, which is why most companies build them near fiber networks, cheap electricity, and reliable maintenance access. So the idea is not impossible to imagine, but it shows how massive AI infrastructure has become when people are thinking about moving computers to the coldest place on Earth.

Why don’t we leave places alone and stop trying to spread ourselves, we don’t need data centers, we don’t need AI

if global warming is a thing, and all these data centers gonna produce excess heat that needs cooled off, Would these only increase global warming

Not possible... Antarctica has huge practical problems!! Those logistics could end up costing more than the cooling savings.

it would cost an insane amount to ship everything to build it their plus paying people to live their while building it so you'd have to buy housing and make sure they have food/water and so much stuff to pull it off

It would really expensive to build it there, expensive to maintain. Theirs no infrastructure, no electricity. To running water for basic human needs

The water gets trickled back into the water supply. It’s only used in cooling. Like diverting and reverting back to streams

so data centers especially new ones use a closed-loop cooling system, there not sucking up billions of gallons of water to keep cool, the are however noisy as hell. Our water consumption is mostly agricultural and growing amount of neighborhoods with population growth.
